ABOUT FORR
Friends of Ridge Road (FORR) is a 501(c)(3)
non-profit organization and serves as a governing body that provides
network opportunities and support sports, developmental and educational
programs of the city's Park and Recreation Department for Ridge Road
Recreational Center. We are a group of
volunteers and active participants who support all programs through
various fundraising activities.
Friends of Ridge Road was established in
2008 as a subsidiary of Ridge Road Parent Association.
MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Membership for the FORR is open to anyone who lives in the community
and desires to commit to making a distinct difference in the Ridge Road
Community.
The Friends group holds monthly meetings on
the 1st Monday of each month. Meetings are held at Ridge Road
Recreation Center located at 802 Ridge Road SE, Washington, D.C.
20019. By joining Friends you will have made a personal commitment
to better our community.

MISSION STATEMENT The
FORR's mission is to provide a safe environment by cultivating
relationships with community members and partnerships with area
businesses. To bridge the gap between youth and seniors
by establishing a career development tutoring/mentoring program.
To
support educational, developmental and athletic programs while
implementing community-based projects. With the help of donations from
supporters such as you, we are confident that our programs will serve as
a catalyst for change and further enhance the lives of those in our
community.
VISION STATEMENT
The goal of FORR is
to advocate for a new facility for Ridge Road Recreation Center that
provides a gym, classrooms with internet accessibility. These
additions would help provide a productive learning environment, skills
and resources necessary to build self-sufficient prosperous lives to
youth and senior citizens.
